Dark medium red. Musky raspberry and redcurrant fruit aromas are complicated by smoked meat and flinty minerals. Plush and round, with the strawberry and raspberry fruit enlivened by harmonious acidity and pepper and herb nuances from the stems. The tannins are quite suave but it would be a shame not to hold this wine for at least a few years before pulling the cork.

The 2013 Chambolle-Musigny Les Gruenchers is virtually seamless on the palate, with superb depth and a level of explosive energy that is simply compelling. There is more than enough density to support many years of exceptional drinking. In 2013, the Gruenchers stands out for its persistence and overall balance.
Healthy deep red. Reticent, distinctly medicinal aromas of black cherry and sweet oak. Then surprisingly dense and sweet in the mouth, showing a fine-grained texture and savory soil-driven dark fruit flavors. Finishes with firm-edged tannins, repeating oakiness and good length. This Chambolle's perfume will be slow to express itself.
