Note di degustazione
The 2019 La Garde Blanc feels a bit flat on the nose, especially when compared to the Carbonnieux Blanc. Scents of grapefruit, watermelon and pear, just missing a little energy. The palate has sharpness on the entry, fine acidity, but it does not convey a sense of complexity or terroir and feels a bit predictable on the finish. Tasted blind at the Southwold annual tasting.

The 2019 la Garde Blanc exhibits aromas of confit citrus, lemongrass and peach, followed by a medium-bodied, soft and ample palate with succulent acids and a chalky, somewhat drying finish.
The 2019 La Garde Blanc is laced with hints of apricot, ripe pear, mint and dried flowers. Light tropical accents add an air of exoticism to this creamy, easygoing white.
Grip and juicy savoury fruits, white pear and gooseberry, with scraping slate texture through the palate. This is excellent, no need to wait, a touch of glamour, easy to drink but with personality. Mouthwatering salinity on the finish. 15% new oak. Vignobles Dourthe.
