The 2021 Château Faugeres brings a terrific sense of richness and depth paired with the classic, fresher style of the vintage. Ripe red and black cherries, leather, scorched earth, and graphite all define the aromatics, and it's medium-bodied, with a pure, elegant mouthfeel and outstanding length.
The 2021 Faugères has a straightforward bouquet with black cherries, loam and cedar aromas, becoming quite floral in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, exhibiting a more restrained style for this château to its advantage. It reveals commendable clarity on the finish and should drink well in bottle.
The 2021 Faugères is a soft, open-knit, classy Saint-Émilion. A healthy dollop of Cabernet Franc adds aromatic presence. All the elements are so well balanced. Lavender, spice, menthol, licorice and mocha build into the textured, beautifully persistent finish.
