Note di degustazione
From prime lieux-dits Aux Barraux and Les Ormes, the 2017 Vosne-Romanée Village bursts with aromas of plums, strawberries and red berry compote, mingled with hints of candied peel and vanillin. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, fleshy and enveloping, built around powdery tannins and lively acids.

Barrel sample. Les Barreaux et les Ormes. 80% whole bunch (due to a miscalculation at the reception!). 30% new oak. Lightish cherry red. Really spicy from the stems and this is to Duband’s taste but he tends to reign it back for a wider audience. Fragrantly stemmy without any unripeness. Crushed strawberries. Juicy herbal-touched fruit. Light and fragrant and fine-boned. ‘My wines before 2006 [before he started using whole bunch] I don’t like’, says Duband. A dry finesse to the tannins. (JH)
