The 2021 Morey-Saint-Denis Monts Luisants Blanc 1er Cru was picked on 30 September. This was quite reduced on the nose and not particularly responsive to aeration. The palate was more indicative, with fine acidity, red apples mixed with orange pith and citrus peel, opening with time, quite harmonious and pithier than the preceding pair of Pulignys on the finish. Drink over the next 8-10 years.
The 2021 Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru Monts Luisants Blanc is, as usual, the most chiseled, incisive white in the cellar, offering up aromas of crisp orchard fruit and white flowers framed by a discreet touch of reduction. Medium-bodied, satiny and tensile, with racy acids and a chalky finish, it's the quintessential Monts Luisants.
