Note di degustazione
The 2021 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses 1er Cru has an open nose with macerated red cherries, raspberry and rose petals, though it does not quite have the complexity and intensity of de Vogüé's Amoureuses. There is some reduction in situ, though it does not feel fixed. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins. Smooth and silky in texture, touches of dried blood infuse the dark red fruit with a slightly savoury peppercorn-tinged finish. Plenty of character in this wine; it will benefit from two or three years more in bottle. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

The 2021 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses 1er Cru has a spellbinding bouquet with effervescent red cherries, redcurrant, hints of yuzu and sous-bois , brimming with energy. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, elegant and silky with a harmonious finish. Not a ravishing Les Amoureuses yet the pedigree of the climat shines through. Frankly, it cocks a snook at the Bonnes-Mares.
The 2021 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses wafts from the glass with scents of sweet smoky berries mingled with notions of orange zest, peonies, spices and raw cocoa. Medium to full-bodied, with a broad and satiny attack that segues into a fleshy core of fruit, it's a perfumed, sensual wine animated by lively acids and concluding with a saline finish. This is a wine that will delight readers who love the Burgundy of yesteryear.
