Tasted blind. Fairly pale crimson. Composed, interesting nose. Juicy, not exactly complex but well balanced with a bit of pace. Just a little lack of flesh. (JR)

This has aromas and flavors of dark fruit, bark, chocolate, cedar and mushrooms. The palate is medium- to full-bodied, with a fleshy texture around the chewy and polished tannins. Needs time to soften, as it’s a little austere now. Best after 2026.
The 2021 Château Nenin is up-front and lively, with the vintage's fresher, vibrant style in its mulberry and redcurrant-like fruit as well as spicy herbs and tobacco notes. It’s medium-bodied, balanced, has soft tannins, and present yet nicely integrated acidity. I'd give bottles 2-4 years and enjoy over the following decade.
The 2021 Nénin has an open bouquet with redcurrant and raspberry fruit, a hint of wilted iris flower and a light marine influence. The oak is nicely integrated, though it is not as complex as other vintages. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black fruit. Just a light touch of white pepper lends a little more complexity to what feels like a "solid" finish. This is maybe missing the finesse of its peers, but there is commendable length. Fine.
