2004 Volnay Les Blanches

1. Slightly stewed at first, then metallic, though exuberant at first, too! 2. Much more severe on the nose than the Chassagne-Montrachet Les Chambres. A bit of rot? Good bumptious fruit, but I’m worried about the purity of flavour. (cask sample) (JR)
