Note di degustazione
Medium red. Musky strawberry and raspberry aromas are accented by violet and wild herbs. Takes a turn toward darker fruits in the mouth, with boysenberry, herb and licorice flavors showing good lift and cut. Finishes with fine-grained tannins and subtle persistence. With its sweet fruit and musky soil tones, this reminded me of a gentler Bonnes-Mares.

The 2013 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru les Baudes was picked on October 8, 100% destemmed and will spend 16 months in oak. It has a refined bouquet, fine mineralité filtering through with hints of wild heather infusing the red berry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with fine acidity, impressive weight with a light, ferrous finish that cuts away a little abruptly and shaved a point or two off of my score. It will be intriguing to see if it fills out by the time of bottling.
Destemmed, 22 days' maceration, 16 months in oak. Deepish cherry red and sweet wild cherry fruit on the nose – ie sweet but not confected. Dry and savoury on the palate, perhaps the oak is dampening the fruit on the palate at the moment but it is all in there in the middle of the framework. Certainly the perfume grows in the glass. Spicy, moreish and compact. (JH)
