The second wine, the 2016 La Reserve de Malartic is a solid step back from the grand vin, offering a medium to full-bodied, charming display of dark fruits, earthy tobacco, and spice. It has plenty of Graves character and is ideal for drinking over the coming decade.

The 2016 La Réserve de Malartic has a straightforward bouquet with briar and undergrowth notes tincturing the black fruit. The medium-bodied palate displays quite supple tannin. The acidity is nicely judged, and there is an almost pastille-like purity toward the finish. Recommended.
This is ripe and supple, but has an elegant, medium body and a long, silky finish that make it very easy to enjoy right now. Seductive blueberry character. Drink or hold.

One of few estates classified for both red and white wine production, Malartic-Lagravière was renovated entirely after the Bonnie family purchased it in 1996. They also expanded the property to its current 53 hectares.
