Tasted blind. Light and decidedly stinky. Then pretty rich on the palate. This could well be one of those dry Sauternes because it doesn’t seem balanced. (JR)

The 2021 Rayne-Vigneau Sec has a well-defined bouquet, more timid than its peers, though well-defined; touches of gooseberry and green apple emerge with time. The palate is well balanced, taut and fresh, with fine acidity and a crisp, saline finish. Maybe just missing a little mineralité and complexity.
Cut grass, grapefruit and citrus flavours, prettry old school Sauvignon Blanc, a little sharp but mouthwatering.
Informazioni sul produttore

The 1855 classification placed Ch. de Rayne Vigneau just behind Ch. d’Yquem – also a nearby neighbour. Its 84-hectare vineyard sits in a single block on gravel mounds, overlooking the Ciron in Sauternes, and producing impressive sweet wines.
