Revisited in bottle, Ponsot's 2018 Morey-Saint-Denis Cuvée des Grives opens in the glass with aromas of cherries, cassis, rich soil tones and dark chocolate. Medium to full-bodied, rich and velvety, with bright acids and a penetrating finish, this has turned out well—though it's deeper-pitched in profile than I perceived from barrel.
