FINE+RARE, Nov 2023

This wine, named in honour of David’s son, Louis Auguste, comes from higher-altitude sites and some of the domaine’s oldest vines (over 55 years in age). The 2022 is dark-fruited, high-toned and with a ripe, sweet nose. The palate is fresh – awash with a blur of black and red berries, and a more precise, chalky note that dominates the finish.

Outstanding - An elegant and expressive, even perfumed, nose freely reveals its aromas of various red berries and soft floral nuances. There is a lovely sense of underlying tension suffusing the delicious middleweight flavors that flash good minerality on the bitter pit fruit-inflected finish. This lightly austere effort should drink well after only 2 to 3 years of keeping. Worth a look.

Foudres and barrels, 20% new wood. Mid purple, super sensual nose with rose petals on top of pretty red berry fruit. This is elegant stylish and very long on the palate. Delicious.
