I loved the 2021 Notre Mystere from barrel, and it doesn't disappoint from bottle, offering a deep, rich, full-bodied style as well as ripe darker cherry and blueberry fruits, some background, classy oak, lots of spice, scorched earth, and graphite aromatics, and building tannins. It's a more structured, focused, inward wine compared to the Lazy Susan Ranch and deserves 5-6 years of bottle age. The blend is 68% Cabernet Sauvignon and 32% Cabernet Franc, raised all in new barrels.

The 2021 Notre Mystere is a co-ferment of 65% Cabernet Franc and 35% Cabernet Sauvignon. It is especially elegant and refined for a mountain wine. There's plenty of tannins, but they are beautifully integrated into the wine's fabric. Black cherry fruit, mocha, new leather, rose petal, mint and bright acids linger on the brilliant finish. Best of all, the 2021 can be enjoyed with minimal cellaring. It is an especially succulent wine from The Vineyardist.
The 2021 Notre Mystere, the estate's Cabernet Franc/Cabernet Sauvignon-based wine, is quite the powerhouse. A burst of dark red cherry, rose petal, mocha, dried flowers and kirsch races across the palate. There's good energy and plenty of personality. The 2021 is pretty tightly wound, but it appears to have enough depth to come together nicely with aging.
