Moderately saturated medium red. Expressive musky aromas of red berries, tobacco and underbrush; shows a slightly grilled-fruit character. Then less sweet and lush than the Petits Plets but a bit youthfully reduced, with well-integrated acidity giving shape to the wine. Most impressive today on the tangy, fine-grained finish, which displays sneaky length. This calls for four or five years of patience.

The 2010 Nuits St. Georges Clos de L'Arlot is another massive, implosive wine that is holding back much of its potential. While the bouquet is a bit reticent, the wine's focus impresses. The 2010 boasts tremendous intensity and raw power, it just needs time for all of the elements to fully harmonize.
More slightly chunky oak, like the Gerbotte. Sweet toasty start and very grainy texture. It does seem overpriced to me. (JR)
Moderately saturated medium red. Musky aromas of dark raspberry, smoke and minerals, lifted by a peppery note. Fat and creamy in the mouth, a step up in density and energy from the Petit Arlot (85-87), which is from young vines in the lower portion of the Clos des Forets Saint-Georges. In a chocolatey, silky style for the vintage, and long and ripely tannic on the aftertaste.
