Note di degustazione
I was skeptical about the 2017 Echezeaux Grand Cru when I tasted it from barrel, but it has rounded out nicely with further élevage and performed well from bottle. Mingling aromas of raspberries and cassis with hints of grilled squab and toasty new oak, it's medium to full-bodied, succulent and fleshy, built around powdery tannins and concluding with good length on the finish.

Cask sample. Dark crimson. Concentrated, appetising fruit on the nose. Lots of juice and charm, with a few (not unpleasant) raw edges at the moment but real drive and energy. (JR)

The Latour family has been growing vines in Burgundy since at least 1731. Their négociant business – today one of the region’s biggest names – was founded in 1797. Still family-owned today, the company owns 48 hectares of vines, 27 of which are Grand Cru, as well as its own cooperage.
