2017 Nuits St Georges Les Hauts Poirets

The 2017 Nuits-Saint-Georges Les Hauts Poirets opens in the glass with a deep-pitched nose of cherries, cassis, dark chocolate and grilled squab, lent lift by attractive floral top notes. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, with a velvety attack and a broad-shouldered chassis of rich and fine-grained structuring tannins. This is quite serious and structured for a 2017 and will require some patience.
