(there are two 300-liter barrels of this juice, one new and the other one year old): Aromas of candied raspberry and spicy oak. Hugely ripe and voluptuous, displaying a liqueur-like sweetness to its red cherry and red berry flavors. Still quite primary, even a bit monolithic, and in need of further refinement. Finishes with chewy, granular tannins and palate-staining fruit. This will be spectacular.

The 2014 Romanée-Saint-Vivant Grand Cru has a detailed bouquet that stops you in your tracks. There is genuine mineraité and tension already locked in here, aromatics that are beautifully focused and almost Richebourg-like in style. The palate is medium-bodied with filigree tannin, succinctly interwoven new oak so that you barely notice its presence. It gently fans out towards the poised, tensile finish and by that time you are already won over by this outstanding Grand Cru from Dujac.
Transparent crimson. Broad and sweet with masses of perfume. Very lifted and boudoir stuff. Racy and more than a dollop of perfume. (JR)
