Note di degustazione
The 2020 Olivier Blanc has a potent nose with lemon curd and orange pith, not complex, but there is plenty of depth here. The palate is well balanced with bitter lemon and wet wool notes on the entry. Spicier than its peers, it’s a powerful dry white that should be consumed in the next five to six years. It’s not quite up there with the bottle tasted last year, but there's promise here. Tasted blind at the annual Southwold tasting.

The 2020 Olivier Blanc is a pretty, medium-bodied, Sauvignon-dominant white evocative of grapefruit oil and lemongrass. Crisp and precise, it's less fleshy and textural than its 2019 counterpart. Bottled under natural cork, I suspect it will be at its best young.
Château Olivier has turned out a classic 2020 Château Olivier Blanc that's loaded with bright citrus, lime, and honeyed mineral notes, as well as some exotic floral nuances. It's clean, medium-bodied, vibrant, and just a classic white from Pessac-Léognan that will evolve for a decade.

Ch. Olivier is one of the few actual castles in Bordeaux – coming with a moat and drawbridge. Since Alexandre de Bethmann took over here in 2012, the château has been given a new lease of life, with quality on the rise.
