Note di degustazione
The 2013 Le Clarence de Haut-Brion is slightly more rustic than the La Chapelle de la Mission, with savory red fruit and singed leather hints. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannins, although I like the tart red fruit and the savory finish. Medium-length, this Deuxième Vin is calling out to be consumed now rather than later. Tasted at Bordeaux Index's 10-Year On tasting.

Pale garnet. A bit more fruit than the Chapelle de la Mission 2013 with reasonable balance but very much an also-ran. Pretty lightweight. But maybe it will gain flesh in bottle? Hoping so … (JR)
Not as charming as La Chapelle, but still an impresive 2nd wine that retains a sense of life and form. Campfire, soot, saffron and dark fruit, with energy and intent as it moves through the palate.
Tasted blind. Deep garnet. Subtle, dusty dark-fruit aroma. The acidity is a little aggressive versus the fruit so the tannins are toughened. Not much pleasure. (JH)
