Note di degustazione
The second wine of this great estate that’s located on the eastern side of the appellation, the 2021 Manoir De Gay has ripe black cherries, spicy herbs, tobacco, and damp earth notes in a medium-bodied, focused style that's common in the vintage. It's enjoyable, with firm tannins, so give bottles just a year or two and enjoy through 2031.

The 2021 Manoir de Gay has a potent menthol bouquet that at least has some vigor. The palate is medium-bodied with rounded tannins, but it feels a little dry on the mid-palate. The finish comes across a bit astringent. Drink this over the next four to five years.
The 2021 Manoir de Gay is soft, curvy and enveloping, all of which make it a fine choice for drinking now and over the next decade or so. Succulent dark cherry/plum fruit, mocha, leather and spice are nicely pushed forward. This mid-weight, racy Pomerol is all charm.
Blueberry and redcurrant fruits, carefully extracted with balance and grip, but a little tight. Charming early to medium term drinking from the Pere-Verge family.

There’s been lots of change at Ch. le Gay since the Parent family arrived in 2002 – with vineyards replanted, the cellars renovated and the winemaking adjusted. No surprise, perhaps, that quality is now higher than ever.
