The 2017 Plince is a soft, forward easygoing wine to drink now and over the next few years. In this vintage, the Cabernet Franc aromatics are especially evident. Hints of spice, chocolate and licorice give this juicy Pomerol pretty shades of nuance.

Composed of 79% Merlot and 21% Cabernet Franc, the 2017 Plince is medium to deep garnet-purple in color and rolls effortlessly out of the glass with scents of blackberry pie, plum preserves and kirsch plus suggestions of menthol, pencil lead and Marmite toast. Medium-bodied, the palate has a sturdy, rugged frame with mouth-coating black fruit and earthy flavors, finishing a little chewy.
The 2017 Plince has a straightforward bouquet with raspberry coulis, undergrowth and touches of iodine on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, a fine bead of acidity with a lightly spiced, chewy finish that should soften with bottle age.
The 2017 Plince, distributed by J-P Moueix, has a very pure and sensual bouquet with violet-infused red fruit that feels almost glossy in style, but totally seductive. The palate is medium-bodied with a core of sweet tannin, silky smooth in texture with what you might call a modern and quite vanillary finish. It seems predesigned to be enjoyed young...and why not?
