The 2021 Clos Floridène, which showed well from barrel, follows up with a strong performance in bottle. Blackberry, wild strawberry, black tea and light cedar scents unfold on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied with graphite-tinged black fruit—very well balanced and one of the few at this level to demonstrate genuine elegance. Given the price, a few bottles of this should be tucked away in your cellar.

The 2021 Clos Floridene has a perfumed, incense-tinged bouquet of light tobacco and undergrowth aromas and decent fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, pretty red fruit and a beautifully balanced, cohesive finish. This is how to do 2021 without having to push too hard.
The 2021 Clos Floridène is quite floral and aromatic in this vintage. Crushed herbs, rose petal mint and red berry fruit all take shape in the glass. The 2021 is a pretty wine that reflects the lighter weight of the year. I would prefer to drink it on the early side.
