Note di degustazione
Slightly medicinal aromas of redcurrant, cedar, cigar box and mint. Juicy and nicely delineated in the mouth, with redcurrant, tobacco, mineral and floral flavors. Offers good freshness and length. The flavors are claret-like, dry and adult, but the tannins are nicely ripe. Includes a trace of malbec (1%) for the first time. An excellent vintage for this bottling.

The 2001 Napanook (a blend of 71% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Cabernet Franc, 7% Merlot, and 4% Petit Verdot; 3,600 cases produced) exhibits a chocolatey, black cherry, and currant-scented nose with hints of dried herbs, cocoa, cedar, and spice in the background. Incredibly Bordeaux-like, it possesses soft, sweet tannin, medium body, and undeniable elegance. Enjoy it now and over the next 7-8 years. (Release date summer 2004) Tel. Full red-ruby color. Reticent on the nose due to the recent fining; hints of black fruits, shoe polish and licorice. Then sweet, rich and deep, with a chewy but smooth texture. Much broader than the 2000 version, with slow-building, lingering flavors.
