Aromas of rich berry fruit, cherries, petals and sweet soil tones introduce the 2020 Bourgogne Plant Gilbert, a medium to full-bodied, lively and nicely concentrated wine framed by powdery tannins and concluding with a sapid finish. It was bottled just before the 2021 harvest.

The 2020 Bourgogne Plant Gilbert includes 25% whole bunch and comes from Chambolle-Musigny. This does not quite possess the precision of the Grand Chaliot, maybe just a little over-ripeness? The palate is medium-bodied with sour cherry and balsamic on the entry, modest depth but there is just a bit of hardness on the finish.
Bottled three weeks ago. 13.25% alcohol. Bright mid-purple. Good energy on the nose, more discretion than some, though with a plump sucrosity on the palate. Sending different signals between the discretion and the eventual sucrosity, but these should harmonise.! Excellent length. Tasted: November 2021
(from vines in Chambolle-Musigny). Ripe aromas of poached plum and earth lead to rich and relatively concentrated medium-bodied flavors that possess very good intensity that carries over to the overtly rustic finish. This robust effort offers good character if limited refinement. (86-88)/2023+
