Punteggio 91/100 · Da bere 2025-2040, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Feb 2020

The 2017 Marsannay Les Ouzeloy is showing beautifully from bottle, unwinding to reveal aromas of cassis, licorice, dark chocolate and loamy soil, framed by a deft application of toasty oak. Medium to full-bodied, supple and enveloping, this is broad-shouldered, concentrated and powerful wine, with fine depth and chalky structure, and it will merit and reward some bottle age.

Punteggio 90/100 · Da bere 2022-2031, Neal Martin, Jan 2020

The 2017 Marsannay Les Ouzeloy is consistent with my notes from barrel. Touches of saddle leather permeate the red fruit on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and grippy in the mouth; orange peel appears toward the finish. Very fine.

Punteggio 90-92/100 · Da bere 2022-2035, Neal Martin, Jan 2019

The 2017 Marsannay Les Ouzeloy, which sees around 40% new oak, has a similar bouquet to the Champs Saint-Etienne, just a little brown spice here, a subtle torrefaction note that hovers in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannin on the entry. This has more substance and a tad more density than the Champs Saint-Etienne with a sorbet fresh finish that will require three to four years in bottle to fully assimilate the new wood. Good potential.
