Note di degustazione
The 2013 Chateauneuf du Pape (80/20 Grenache and Syrah) is a solid effort and I’m happy to have bottles in the cellar. Notes of black cherries, strawberries, white pepper, and spring flowers as well as plenty of Provençal spice, give way to a medium-bodied, elegant, charming 2013 that’s drinking at point today.

Brilliant ruby-red. Suave, highly perfumed scents of raspberry liqueur, smoky minerals, candied flowers and Asian spices. Sappy and seamless on the palate, offering intense, well-delineated red fruit and floral pastille flavors given spine by juicy acidity. Alluringly sweet and energetic, displaying strong finishing persistence and just a hint of dusty tannins.
A step up on the richness scale from the les Premices, the 2013 Châteauneuf du Pape Tradition (80% Grenache and 20% Syrah) has impressive amounts of black cherry and strawberry fruit, white pepper, incense and violets. This medium-bodied, ultra-pure, elegant, yet mid-weight Châteauneuf du Pape has lots to love, but will need drinking in its first 5-7 years of life.
