Note di degustazione
(Outstanding)<br /> A timid nose grudgingly displays notes of spice, red berries, lilac, sandalwood and wet stone nuances. I love the underlying tension present on the notably mineral-driven and focused middle weight flavors where the intensity really builds from the mid-palate onto the wonderfully long and explosive finish. This is really good if quite serious juice with excellent development potential.

Tasted at the Comte Liger-Belair vertical at the Château de Vosne. The 2013 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Petits Monts does not quite possess the same delineation and tension as the Les Suchots, with notes of blackcurrant, red currant and cold granite emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with gratifying purity on the entry. But it is much more tightly wound than the Les Suchots, sinewy and bolshie toward the finish. Give this several years in bottle to really show what it can do. Tasted June 2015.
The 2013 Vosne-Romanée Les Petits Monts is a ball of tightly wound energy. Hints of citrus, licorice, menthol and new leather add an exotic flair. The Petits Monts was the last wine in the cellar to finish its malo, so it is understandably a bit less formed than some of the other wines in this tasting. Still, its considerable potential is evident.
Bright red-ruby. Rather wild aromas of blackberry, coffee, minerals and black tea. Less sweet in the early going than the Suchots, showing a firmer mineral underpinning. A more medicinal style, with dark berry flavors complicated by licorice and saline qualities. Finishes classically dry, with lightly dusty tannins.
