Note di degustazione
Tasted blind. Deep crimson. Lifted and fragrant with dark fruits and a light cedary note. Firm, dry, chewy tannins but all held at the core by the fruit. Harmonious, rounded and balanced, if uncomplicated. Nice freshness on the finish from both acidity and tannins, just a touch pinched at the very end. (JH)

The 2020 Laroze has a more decadent bouquet than its peers, with notes of black cherries, boysenberry jam and a touch of fig. It manages to retain freshness and delineation, ripe and generous with ample grip and refinement on the finish. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins and well-judged acidity. It's very promising and performs above expectations. Tasted blind at the annual Southwold tasting.
Full bottle 1,323 g. Plum-bright fruit with a decidedly tart aspect. The tannins feel a little rigid and taste a little green, turning sawdusty on the finish. Starts well but the finish is pinched off. (TC)
Lots of cassis, ripe berries, spicy wood, and flowery incense notes emerge from the 2020 Château Laroze, a plump, forward, nicely concentrated 2020 with plenty of tannins, good overall balance, and outstanding length. It's going to take 4-5 years for these tannins to integrate, but this is another impressive wine from this incredible vintage.
