Punteggio 89/100 · Da bere 2014-2024, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Apr 2012

The 2009 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Corbeaux comes across as ripe, upfront and juicy. The wine turns more delicate in the glass as the aromatics gradually emerge. Sweet floral and minty notes add freshness on the finish. The 2009 has enough vibrancy to drink well for the better part of the next decade.

Juicy, precise aromas of red berries, cherry, spices and mocha, plus a whiff of menthol. Juicy, fine-grained and densely packed but a bit medicinal today. For all its richness this communicates an impression of weightlessness. In fact, this wine is downright balanced and bright. Firmly tannic and dusty but not dry. Finishes long and lively.

(this was racked in September) Bright, deep red. Aromatic nose of cherry and spices. Comes off as less fleshy today than the village offerings but juicier and more firmly structured, with good spicy lift. Broadens out nicely on the persistent, ripely tannic finish. From a 1968 planting.
