The 2020 Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru La Riotte opens in the glass with aromas of cherries, warm spices, wild berries, peonies and loamy soil. Medium to full-bodied, rich and velvety, with lively acids and melting tannins, it concludes with a long, saline finish.

The 2020 Morey-Saint-Denis La Riotte 1er Cru was completely de-stemmed this year. This possesses wonderful mineralité and tension on the nose, quite flinty and stony, translating the terroir with style. The palate is medium-bodied with fine grip, a citrus bead of acidity, modest depth but with a very appealing, peppery finish thanks partly to the 30% whole bunch. Excellent.
