The 2021 La Garde Blanc was picked September 6–21, the fruit cooled before transferring into barrels of various sizes, with 8 months aging on the lees. It has a straightforward but pleasant bouquet of lime flower, grapefruit and a touch of orange pith. The palate is well balanced, taut and fresh, with fine acidity, the 15% new oak a discreet guiding hand. Good weight and length, and the terroir comes through nicely.
