Note di degustazione
The 1988 Larrivet Haut-Brion offer quite a pungent, dried tobacco, sage and smoke-scented nose, an archetypal mature Pessac bouquet. The palate has commendable depth with a keen thread of acidity, a little spicy with clove and bay leaf, a pinch of cracked black pepper appearing towards its straight-laced but agreeable finish. This has held up well for 30 years although personally I would not leave it too much longer. Tasted at the Académie du Vin dinner.

Although the 1988 is light, it exhibits a good ruby color, an earthy, fruity nose, round, ripe, charming flavors, and soft tannins in the finish. It will be ideal for drinking over the next 6-7 years. Last tasted 1/93
