Note di degustazione
The 2018 Nuits Saint-Georges 1er Cru has a well-defined bouquet with dark berry fruit, loam, a light marine influence developing with time. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, fresh and focused. A touch of white pepper emerges towards the finely proportioned and quite persistent, slightly creamy finish. This NSG ably copes with the summer warmth (and hail) of the 2018 vintage. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2018 red tasting.

The 2018 Nuits Saint-Georges Aux Argillats 1er Cru has an expressive and well-defined bouquet of brambly red berry fruit, sous-bois and orange peel scents that gently unfold in the glass. The medium-bodied palate offers just a touch of licorice on the entry. Very saline in the mouth with fine-boned tannins and a more sophisticated finish compared to the Au Bas de Combe. Superb.
Tank sample. More red-fruited and fresher on the nose than the NSG Au Bas de Combe. Dark and savoury on the palate, a sort of rocky finesse to the dry, compact tannins. A way to go. (JH)
The 2018 Nuits Saint-Georges Aux Argillats 1er Cru has a complex bouquet of red and black fruit and scents of pressed rose petals and violets, becoming ever prettier with aeration. The oak is very well integrated here. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly chalky tannins, plenty of tart red fruit, fine grip and a slightly angular finish that will find more cohesion by the finish of its barrel maturation. Very good potential, but it will need time.
