Tasted blind. Inky crimson. Black-fruited and oaky. Nicely judged tannins but the fruit is slightly stewed on the finish. (JH)

The 2020 Le Crock has a pleasant, well-defined nose of gravel-scented red fruit. It just needs more vigor. The palate is medium-bodied with quite dry tannins. It's fleshy on the entry but lacks a bit of grip and substance toward the bitter finish. There have been better vintages of this in recent years. Tasted blind at the annual Southwold tasting.
47% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc, 6% Petit Verdot. Dark purplish crimson. Powerful and intense on the nose so that it is not yet very expressive. Intensely dark in both fruit flavour and savoury tannins. Sober in its power and depth. Tannins are firm, slightly thick, but there's good freshness on the finish. (JH)
Aromas of sweet plums, spices and coconut introduce the 2020 Le Crock, a medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy wine that's rich and extracted in style.
