Punteggio 94/100 · Da bere 2023-2028, Luis Gutiérrez, Wine Advocate, Jan 2023

The 2020 Belondrade y Lurton is already sold out, but for completeness of our database I tasted it next to the current 2021. 2020 was a little warmer and drier, and the wine shows a golden color and a more developed nose with notes of yellow fruit, pollen and hay and a little quince too with time in the glass. The palate is soft and tender, with integrated acidity, very good balance, power and elegance and the pleasant bitter twist in the finish. It's riper at 14.2% alcohol. 106,800 bottles, 1,743 magnums and some larger formats produced. It was bottled in July 2021.

Punteggio 18/20 · Da bere 2022-2030, Jancis Robinson MW, Jan 2022

95% Verdejo, 5% others. Blend of 23 plots. Vineyards from 5 to 60 years old. Organic management. Gravel areas in the upper parts but a lot of sand. 6–10 hours’ maceration. Autochthonous yeasts. All fermented and aged in barrels from five coopers, among which Vicard is quite important. Approximately 10 months of ageing in barrel on average. Some barrels then go into Apolonia, the second wine of the house. Creamy nose, and the fruit is delicate, very precise on the nose. Rounded, powerful and well balanced. Elegant and complex, surprisingly elegant for such a young wine. The oak is exquisite – the wood melts. Should evolve well in the bottle. (FC)
