2016 Baron de Chirel Rioja Reserva

Shimmering violet. A highly perfumed bouquet evokes fresh black and blue fruits, incense, vanilla and cigar box, and a spicy nuance builds in the glass. Palate-staining blackberry, cherry cola and vanilla flavors show very good depth and definition, while an undercurrent of juicy acidity adds bracing structure. Rich yet lively as well, finishing with strong persistence and dusty tannins that come in late.
