Punteggio 88-91/100 · Da bere 2021-2029, Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Jan 2015

(purchased wine from true Charmes): Bright, dark red. The nose suggests a wide range of ripeness: from roasted berries to peppery herbs. Fat and saline in the mouth, with little easy sweetness. Comes across as rather chunky next to the Gevrey crus vinified by Jadot. Finishes salty and slightly dry, with a peppery quality to the tannins. This fruit got a longer pre-fermentation cold soak, noted Barnier.

Punteggio 90-92/100 · Da bere 2018-2034, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Dec 2014

The 2013 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru has a straight-laced bouquet with fine delineation: dark cherries, blackberry and a subtle seaweed/marine influence. The palate is well balanced with a lively entry. The oak is very dominant at the moment (two new barrels and one used) and shaves off the terroir expression on the finish. Racking will alleviate the wood component, so let's see how this shows once in bottle.
