Punteggio 89/100 · Jeff Leve, The Wine Cellar Insider, Mar 2022

Medium-bodied, with touches of smoke, tobacco, wet earth and red berries, the wine is is soft, fresh, elegant and even better, it is already quite easy to taste. Drink this while waiting for the Grand Vin to come around. Drink from 2022-2028.

This shows some ripe blackcurrants, blueberries, nut shells, chocolate and crushed stones. Sleek and juicy with medium body and fine, chewy tannins. Lingering ripe berries on the palate with a firm finish. Tight now. Cabernet sauvignon and merlot. Drink after 2025.

The 2019 Lagrave-Martillac is a more medium-bodied, elegant effort, offering upfront black cherry and currant fruits as well as a kiss of chocolatey herbs, medium body, and an already hard to resist style geared for early drinking.

Composed of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot, harvested from the 19th of September to the 11th of October, the 2019 Lagrave-Martillac came in at yields of 45 hectoliters per hectare. Deep garnet-purple in color, it exudes expressive notions of baked plums, blueberry pie and chocolate box with wafts of kirsch and crushed rocks. Medium-bodied, the palate gives lots of appealing, juicy black and blue fruits with a chewy texture and bright acidity, finishing uncomplicated.
