Note di degustazione
As St Julien wines as a whole have become more expensive, finding good 2nd wines as a way into this well loved appellation becomes ever more important. This is a good sign of the quality of 2018, as it has well integrated tannins at six years old that still offer plenty of cradling to the redcurrant and raspberry fruits. Touches of tobacco leaf and fresh acidities, orange peel twist on the finish, charming and ready to drink with a good few years ahead. 35% new oak for ageing.

Solid crimson. Firm and solid with a little development and some complexity. Some ripe tannins on the end but before that there is lots of polish. Very well made. But is it that much better than the best petits châteaux that sell for so much less? (JR)
Tasted blind. Furry nose. Over-the-top sweetness. Uncomfortably exaggerated. (JR)
Informazioni sul produttore

With greater care in the vineyard and more precision in the winery, Ch. Beychevelle's star is rising. That's in large part due to the leadership of Philippe Blanc and investment by current owners, Japanese brewers Suntory and French wine group Castel.
