Note di degustazione
The 2022 Château Mazeyres is solid and well worth purchasing. Based on 78% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Petit Verdot, it has a juicy, fresh, lively style in its mulberry and darker plum-like fruit, and it’s forward, medium-bodied, and easygoing. It should drink well for 10-12 years.

The 2022 Mazeyres really seems to have gone into its shell on the nose, missing a little presence. The palate is medium-bodied with sorbet-fresh red fruit, quite citrus-like for a Pomerol. This is open-knit with kirsch and orange rind notes toward the finish. It becomes quite spicy in the glass. This is a fine albeit relatively early-drinking wine.
A nicely structured, savory and textured Pomerol. The nose exhibits blueberries, mulberries, dark plums, dried violets, wet floor and mild spices. It’s medium- to full-bodied with fine, firm tannins. Plenty of graphite character on the palate with a seductive frame of berries and spices mingling harmoniously. Well-driven with a long, focused finish. From organically grown grapes. Drink after 2027.
Like the floral aromatics here, followed by raspberry puree, just the right amount of rustic to make it approachable and not overly sleek, has juice and character, and is an enjoyable wine. Guillard family owners since 2020, still with Alain Moueix as director. 18hl/h yield, harvest September 1 to 22, 30% in barrel, 20% in cement edges, 30% in large oak cask and 20% in amphora.Certified organic and biodynamic.
