Note di degustazione
The 2016 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Boudots (Domaine Gagey) is showing well from bottle, exhibiting scents of smoky blackberries, red plums, citrus rind and spicy new wood. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, ample and youthfully chewy, with tangy acids, fine but firm structuring tannins and a grippy finish. The raw materials are impressive, but this is one of the Jadot 2016s that will require some patience.

Lots of walnut, spice, stone and dark-berry aromas follow through to a medium to full body, firm and silky tannins and a savory, subtle berry aftertaste. Like the elegant ripeness at the end.
Cask sample. Light to mid crimson. Much richer fruit than in the Vaucrains so the harmony is better already. More depth of fruit but lovely freshness. Persistent too. Mouth-watering and moreish. (JH)

Louis Jadot is arguably the most consistent négociant house in Burgundy. It has managed to straddle both the entry-level and fine wine market, while retaining respect in both.
