Punteggio 91+/100 · Da bere 2028-2040, Neal Martin, Mar 2026

The 2022 Le Bon Pasteur has a slightly smudged bouquet with blackberry, wild hedgerow and allspice scents, a little loamy in style. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, a keen line of acidity and a pleasant tartness towards the finish that lends drinkability. Easy-going for now, but it will improve. Tasted blind at the Southwold tasting in London.

Punteggio 95/100 · Da bere 2025-2045, Jeb Dunnuck, Feb 2025

The 2022 Château Le Bon Pasteur is 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, offering a round, supple, and beautifully textured profile with red and black fruits, chocolate, tobacco, and hints of minerality. Medium to full-bodied, it has velvety tannins, terrific mid-palate depth, and a pure, layered style. Vinified in stainless steel and aged for 15 months in 70% new French oak, this voluptuous yet balanced Pomerol will evolve well for 20+ years. Total production: 1,500 cases.

Punteggio 93/100 · Da bere 2027-2047, Neal Martin, Jan 2025

The 2022 Le Bon Pasteur has a well-defined, finely delineated bouquet that is surprisingly classic in style, with blackberry, cedar and light pencil shaving notes manifesting in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied, gentle and harmonious, with pliant tannins and a persistent, mocha-tinged finish. This is a well-crafted Pomerol that should age well in bottle.

Brambled black fruits, hedgerow, liquorice, black chocolate, well balanced and keeps its foot off the pedal while still delivering intense favours that deliver estate signature. 70% new oak, integral vinification in barrel. 5.2ha vineyard.
