The 2022 Clos Marsalette is juicy and complex, with a vibrant style in its black cherries, darker currant, leafy tobacco, and earthy nuances. These carry to a medium-bodied, elegant, seamless Pessac-Léognan with good acidity and length. I like it today, yet it should have a solid 10- to 15-year drink window.

The 2022 Clos Marsalette has a strict and perhaps rather simplistic bouquet—you kind of know that it could do better. The palate is medium-bodied, with crunchy red fruit, a brittle texture and a light, tart finish. This is for early drinking.
55% Sauvignon Blanc, 45% Sémillon. Cask sample. Perfumed peach and pineapple aroma. Could be mistaken for Viognier. Round and juicy initially then falls away on the finish. Just a bit flat. (JL)
