2017 Aloxe Corton Les Fournieres

The 2017 Aloxe-Corton Les Fournières 1er Cru, which I tasted from a used barrel, has a delightful bouquet of red cherries, crushed strawberry and perhaps the most expressive mineralité of the domaine’s three Aloxe Premier Crus. The palate is very harmonious and complete, presenting fine, saturated tannin counterbalanced by a fine thread of acidity. There is great depth here, with veins of blue fruit toward the floral finish. Highly recommended.
