Punteggio 88-90/100 · Da bere 2019-2025, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Dec 2016

The 2015 Côte de Nuits Villages comes from vines around Brochon and includes around 80% whole bunch fruit. Sylvie told me that there was a lot of millerandage around her parcels. It finished its malolactic the earliest as usual. It has much more precision and focus than the Bourgogne Rouge, a mixture of red and black fruit infused with subtle graphite/slate-like scents. The palate is medium-bodied with taut tannin, nicely balanced with more black fruit than red, a little abrupt towards the finish, although it maintains precision from start to finish. I much prefer this to the Bourgogne Rouge this year.

Rich and round. Velvety tannins and lots of acidity. Quite severe at this point. (JR)

(13.2% natural alcohol; vinified with 80% whole clusters; from vines in Brochon): Blackberry, blueberry and violet aromas show a slightly wild quality. Dense and primary, combining an element of sucrosité with bright acidity. The very small berries have produced a powerful Côte de Nuits-Villages with noteworthy texture to its dark berry and violet flavors. Finishes sweet and long, with substantial ripe, tongue-dusting tannins.
