Note di degustazione
(from the climat Maupertuis): Bright red-ruby. Medicinal and minty nuances to the aromas of black cherry, violet and licorice; an essence of Clos Vougeot on the nose. Dense, sappy and backward, with black and blue fruit flavors supported by a firm tannic spine. In a distinctly masculine style. In fact, these négociant wines generally come across as more tannic than Forey's estate bottlings; they finished their malos later and may be bottled later as well.

The 2013 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru has a fragrant bouquet with vanilla-tinged red and black fruit vying for attention. The palate is well balanced with good density, quite solid, and just a little brusqueness on the finish. Not a bad Clos Vougeot, although I think Jean-Marie produced better négoçiant wines in this vintage.
Three casks from three different spots. Monpertuis. Has a really subtle top note and great depth. Really exciting – yet another great Clos Vougeot 2013! Firm and promising. Really excellent depth and breadth. So sophisticated and long term. (JR)
