Punteggio 16.5/20 · Da bere 2025-2039, Tamlyn Currin, jancisrobinson.com, Jan 2026

Full bottle 1,270 g.  Touch of bell pepper on the nose. Peppery in the mouth. Subtle. The fruit is tightly tucked into the folds of finely astringent, long, strong tannins. Blackcurrant leaf, redcurrant fruit, dried-tomato umami. Well-composed, serious and dignified. (TC)

Punteggio 16/20 · Da bere 2024-2030, Tamlyn Currin, jancisrobinson.com, Oct 2023

Full bottle 1,270 g. Roughly half and half cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Ripe damson, blue plum and sloe fruit inside a tight frame of ink-dusty tannins. Fresh and appealing. (TC)

Punteggio 88/100 · Da bere 2025-2040, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Apr 2022

The 2019 de France exhibits aromas of plums, currants, forest floor and spices, followed by a medium-bodied, rather firm and compact palate, built around powdery tannins that assert themselves on the finish. Time may be kind to it, but it's somewhat charmless out of the gates.

Punteggio 92/100 · Da bere 2025-2042, Neal Martin, Feb 2022

The 2019 Château de France has an open, airy bouquet of lifted blackberry, rose petal and light cedar aromas and a touch of leather. The concentrated palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, fine grip and acidity and impressive build in the mouth. This is one of the best reds that I have tasted from this Pessac-Léognan.
