Note di degustazione
The 2022 Château Chauvin is a more lifted, juicy effort with ample black cherry, scorched earth, dark chocolate, and sappy flower and violet notes in its medium to full-bodied profile. With juicy acidity, plenty of concentration, and building, slightly firmer tannins, it's going to benefit from 4-6 years in the cellar yet have two decades of overall longevity. It's another beautiful wine from this estate. The blend is 69% Merlot, 27% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon, all raised 14 months in 50% new French oak. For the tech geeks out there, it hit 14% alcohol with a pH of 3.58.

The 2022 Chauvin offers a delightful bouquet with well-defined scents of blackberry, wild strawberry and violets. It has well-integrated oak and a more mineral-driven profile than its peers. The palate is medium-bodied with firmer tannins than I recall, providing more backbone. Give it three or four years in the bottle because there's a fine Saint-Émilion in the making here.
Great quality, this is an enjoyable vintage of Chauvin, fleshy red fruits with anis, fennel, slate, blood orange, campfire. Cazes-Regimbeau family, 50% new oak, harvest September 19 to October 13,
78% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Franc, 4% Cabernet Sauvignon. Sylvie Cazes and daughter’s property. Cask sample. Quite intense, ripe nose recalls some of the Pomerols I have just been tasting. Lots of life in this wine that almost seems to have some carbon dioxide evident in solution. Racy stuff and good balance. Ripe, fresh tannins on the end. Quite long. (JR)
