Note di degustazione
The 2022 La Garde has a very appealing nose: blackberry, briar and light bay leaf scents unfold in the glass. The oak is beautifully integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, gentle grip and fine balance, although it loses some vigour in the glass, causing me to reduce my score. Tasted blind at the Southwold tasting in London.

The 2022 La Garde wafts from the glass with aromas of dark wild berries, spices, mulberries and licorice mingled with delicate oaky notes. Medium to full-bodied, concentrated and layered, it has a fleshy core of fruit framed by a gently assertive tannic frame and a long, mineral and pencil lead-inflected finish.
The 2022 La Garde is much more forward on the floral nose than it showed from barrel, with quite opulent blueberry and blackberry fruit aromas. Floral in style, the palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, fine tension and a discrete pepperiness that defines the finish. There's good linearity here. This is a La Garde that should age well in bottle.
